A letter to the Dubuque Community from local Pediatricians

The pediatricians of Dubuque would like to inform you of a rapidly evolving situation in the community that affects our children.  A perfect storm of influenza AND RSV infections has already led to a large number of children requiring hospitalization and critical care up to and including the use of ventilators to assist breathing.

About Us

The Dubuque County Health Department was established in 1968 with a mission to protect, promote, and enhance the health and well-being of all people and the environment in Dubuque County. This is accomplished through:

  • Assessment of community and environmental health status, policy, development, and assurance that public health needs are met
  • Cultivation of knowledge and behavior conducive to healthy lifestyles
  • Focus of resources toward prevention and early intervention
  • Leadership and collaboration with other agencies
